Arnie on location at Big Sur.

Arnie Casavant graduated from the University of Massachusetts under the GI bill with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in art education in 1975. He began teaching art at Oliver Ames High School in Easton Massachusetts in September of 1978 and retired as Art Department Chairperson in June of 2004.

Graduate work was done at RI School of Design, Massachusetts College of Art, Museum School of Fine Arts in Boston and other colleges throughout New England. In addition to teaching, he has focused on abstract and landscape painting over the past several years and has shown his work throughout New England.

He teaches plein air landscape and abstract painting on Cape Cod and Boston through Northeastern University’s Institute of Professional Development and Graduate Studies in Education.

Arnie Casavant currently lives on Admiral’s Hill in Chelsea Massachusetts in the shadows of the Mystic Tobin Bridge, a stone’s throw from downtown Boston.
